This might help...

I am sure you all know what is happening with the two bills going around Congress right now (the ones that blocked out Google and Wikipedia) but, you might not know what it will exactly do. Some at my school get around this email that might give you a grasp on what this is going to entail. BTW it will effect anyone reading this post right now!
For those of you who know me, this is not a surprise. But for those of you who don't, I'm Christina. I'm an artist, it's how I earn money for myself, and this is my message:

There are two bills being passed around Congress currently. The Stop Online Piracy Act in the House of Representatives and the Protect IP Act in the Senate. These bills are meant to protect from copyright infringement and piracy online. However, these bills will give way too much power to the government and any businesses that feel like something is threatening profits. Websites like Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter will be severely affected. Anything that they don't like they will have the right to take down because of these bills. Fandoms will be shut down. Fan art, fan fiction, everything. Those funny videos you watch on YouTube? GONE. That post you just wrote on your wall? BLOCKED. Artists like myself depend on commissions for a living. These commissions can often involve fan works and material that will be in violation if SOPA and PIPA are passed. Our careers would be at risk. These bills will also severely impact the economic growth of the country. Freedom of speech is part of the foundation of America. These bills will put that right in jeopardy.

PLEASE, if you are opposed to these being passed, join the fight against them.

This link is where you can sign a petition against SOPA and PIPA-

Take action. Share this with your friends and family. The Senate begins voting on the 24th of this month. There is not much time left, so spread the word and fight against these horrible bills.

Thank you.

I hope this kinda helped you understand what will happen if this bill passes.

To response to this the background of my blog will be black until the 24th.

This is important for ALL BLOGGERS/ VLOGGERS to know!

  1. Thanks for the information. I was wondering all day why Google had a black box around their name. Now I know. Thanks!
